To adjust this, plug in and turn on the clipper, then turn the power/tension screw counter-clockwise until the noise drops to a normal running noise, then adjust an additional 1/4 turn. If the settings are correct, the problem should be solved.

The clippers should go from a nice hum to a loud rattle. (Don’t panic, this will not damage the clippers.) When you hear this sound, start turning the screw counter-clockwise (to the left) until the normal running sound returns.
(Oil lubricates the blades, allowing them to run at the right speed and providing a better cut. It also helps the clippers run cooler. If your clipper blades are still pulling on your hair, need to have your blades replaced or sharpened.
Oiling the blades reduces friction and prevents the clippers from pulling and snagging when cutting your hair. A drop of oil on the corners of the upper side of the blade and on the base of the blade is enough. After applying the drops of oil, turn on the clippers to help work the oil in.
If you have a non-gap blade, your blades will be cut tighter for sharper fading and blending. It is important to adjust your hair clipper blades so that you can more easily even out skin fading and skin rejuvenation. The only tool you need is a screwdriver.
Step 3: Use the screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw (on the side of the clippers) clockwise until a loud noise is heard.
