In the lower compartment of the center console there is an AUX input socket. A stereo mini-jack plug (3.5ø) can be plugged into this socket.
For some reason, 2005 and 2006 Subaru Outbacks and Forresters Subaru connected the factory stereo to the climate control system. This makes modifications – like adding input jacks for MP3 players – difficult, but not impossible.
The Tribeca can be fitted with a well-executed navigation system and a rear-seat entertainment package, but unfortunately does not offer Bluetooth or satellite radio readiness.
► Recommendation: Use medium sound and volume settings on the audio device. The sound depends on the quality of the audio files. The AUX-IN connection is located in the center armrest. Connect the headphone or line-out port of the device to the jack plug.
The system has built-in Bluetooth and microphone.

Now most vehicles manufactured after 2004 have an auxiliary entrance. While some vehicles later switched exclusively to Bluetooth, additional inputs are installed in many new and used vehicles on the market.
There are many types of aux cables and connectors. The most common is a 3.5mm jack, which is the same type of Tip-Ring-Sleeve (TRS) or Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve (TRRS) plug used to Connecting headphones is used. (That’s why they’re sometimes called headphone jacks.)
Are AUX (Auxiliary) ports & Headphone jacks the same? The structure of the aux connection and the headphone jack is often the same: 3.5 mm (1/8″) TRS. However, the “auxiliary jack” is universal for audio, while the “headphone jack” is named for headphones.
Go to your settings and navigate to your bluetooth or connection settings. Bluetooth should be set to “On”. If not, please enable it. Next, click on the “Phone” app on your Subaru’s infotainment system.
