If there’s one store that’s the most mysterious and important in Diagon Alley, it’s Ollivanders. This is where wizards and witches get their wands, and without a wand it’s difficult to do any magic at all. There is something so fascinating about wands, their components and how they are made.
The Apothecary was a shop on the North Side, Diagon Alley, that provided merchants with ingredients for making potions. This seemed to be the favorite pharmacy of Harry Potter and the Weasleys.
Ollivanders sells both original and interactive wands; The latter can be used at interactive spell points in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. If the store is too busy, look for Gregorovitch wands in Carkitt Market – most of these wands are also available here.
In 1991, Harry Potter was brought to Ollivanders by Rubeus Hagrid to get Harry a wand for his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Affiliation. Amanuensis Quills was a small stationery shop on Diagon Alley, right next to Madam Malkin’s All Occasion Robes.
Ollivanders™ Wand Shop on Diagon Alley™ | Universal Studios Florida.
Sometimes referred to simply as Madam Malkin’s, it was a shop in Diagon Alley where students would get their Hogwarts school uniforms as well as dress robes, traveling robes and the like. Located at 275 Diagon Alley, this store helped witches get rid of “warts and worse.”
So the result for many visitors to Ollivanders will be easy entertainment hardly worth the wait if it’s longer than 20 minutes or so – unless their own children are chosen, of course.
The wand can choose you, but if you keep it, you have to pay for it. Harry also had to pay for his wand, right? All wands cost just under $50 and if chosen, you will surely remember them forever.
Ollivanders is a wand shop at Universal Studios. It’s part of the Harry Potter folklore and incorporates many elements from the books and films. Every 15-25 minutes there is a wand ceremony where one wizard is chosen from the crowd who is then chosen by a wand.
Magic wand prices range from $25 for a toy “study wand” to $48 for an interactive model that triggers special effects hidden in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley storefronts. The wand experience is second only to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey in popularity.
Wands can also be purchased at the main Universal gift shops in front of each park and at CityWalk, or online at Universal’s official merchandise store. Also, please note that each interactive wand comes in an Ollivander box with a double-sided map showing magic locations in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.
Hogsmeade. There was a branch of Ollivander’s wand shop in Hogsmeade. This High Street branch was very similar to its counterpart in Diagon Alley.
The participating stores are Borgin and Burkes, Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, Magical Menagerie, Ollivanders, Quality Quidditch Supplies, Scribbulus, Wands by Gregorovitch, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes and Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment.
Magic wands are an integral part of the The Wizarding World of Harry Potter experience. Traditional wands and interactive wands are available at several Universal Orlando retail locations. As of 2021 the cost of a standard wand will be $55 and the cost of an interactive wand will be $59.
Mykew Gregorovitch (d. 2 September 1997) was a magician, famous wand maker and the owner of Gregorovitch wands in Europe. His wands were also sold at Wands by Gregorovitch at Carkitt Market in London, in competition with Ollivanders.
In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade (in Universal’s Islands of Adventure), wands are located at Ollivanders, Owl Post and the wand wagon on the way to Hogwarts Castle.
It’s a good buy even if it costs some money. The wand works perfectly and also works across both parks. If you choose the other Universal Studio, then it would work there as well. I’ve had mine for about 5 years and it’s always a pleasure to use.
All necessary supplies for Hogwarts can be purchased at Diagon Alley.
