Go-Mix Oil has excellent lubricating and cleanliness properties to control friction and prevent wear. Go-Mix is formulated for fewer emissions at a 100:1 mix ratio than oils mixed at 50:1 or higher and can be used in your Go-Ped® scooter or kart at the recommended ratio.
Most 2-stroke chainsaws recommend a chainsaw oil mix ratio of 50:1. But some recommend 40:1. Older 2-strokes might even ask for 32:1.
For a 50:1 gasoline to oil ratio, use 2.6 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gasoline.
You want to mix 2.6 ounces of oil with a gallon of gasoline for a 50:1 mix. If you are mixing two gallons of gasoline, you must mix 5.2 ounces of oil with two gallons of gasoline for a 50:1 mix.
Excess oil can cause a smoking exhaust, oil leaking from the muffler and sometimes loss of power. While not ideal, these problems can be corrected simply by replacing the fuel in the tank with properly mixed fuel.
Step 1: Determine the correct mix ratio for your device.
This ratio tells you how much fresh, regular unleaded gasoline (with no more than 10% ethanol) to mix with how much oil to mix. For all Remington 2-cycle products, the ratio is 40:1. That means you should add 3.2 ounces of oil to every gallon of gasoline.
Can I use engine oil for 2-stroke mixture? Motor oil and engine oil do not smear as much when exposed to gasoline. You can use motor oil temporarily, but it will cause the parts to wear together with constant use. Motor oil also causes more pollution than 2-stroke oil, which burns clean.
For 5 gallons of 50:1 gasoline, the amount of oil required is 12.8 US ounces (100 ml). Experts agree that it is better to take too much oil than too little. Typical slump period ratios are about twice normal; 50:1 is generally 25:1 during ingest.
Use a 40:1 2-stroke oil mix ratio. A gallon of gasoline combined with 3.2 ounces of two-stroke motor oil.
Divide 1 by the total number of parts (water + solution). For example, if your mix ratio is 8:1 or 8 parts water to 1 part solution, there are (8 + 1) or 9 parts. The blend percentage is 11.1% (1 divided by 9). Need another example?
If you cannot find the specific ratio for your blend, 40:1 is accepted as the average ratio for 2-stroke engines. That’s 125 ml of two-stroke oil for 5 l of fuel.
