That’s why I’m here to talk about another option, which is to be a Carnitarian. A carnitarian is when you don’t eat fish or seafood and it turns out to be very good for your health. This is also a good alternative for someone who wants to do their bit for the environment.
Pollo vegetarians, almost the opposite of a pescetarian, avoid red meat but enjoy poultry dishes such as turkey, chicken or duck. It’s not entirely unheard of for them to also eat seafood from time to time, but it’s still usually avoided whenever possible.

While crab contains less mercury than many other types of seafood, it can still be a concern depending on how it’s caught and prepared. Brown crab meat can also be high in cadmium, which is toxic if you ingest too much. Crabs also have a good bit of sodium (237 milligrams in a 3-ounce serving).
Maybe it’s the combination of two superbly healthy proteins that makes it work. In fact, the amino acids in eggs help the body metabolize proteins, so pairing high-protein eggs with high-protein fish creates a big protein hit.
Most types of beverages are permitted on a plant-based diet, including the pescetarian diet. But to keep your intake healthy, limit or avoid sugary drinks like soda and juice and rely on naturally low-calorie drinks like water, coffee, and tea.
If you adopt a pescetarian diet, you may only notice a change in your skin. This is due to eating more oily fish. The omega-3 fatty acids, found naturally in many types of fish, are essential to your skin’s health as they help manage its moisture, reduce signs of aging and protect it from sun damage (according to Healthline).
