Jeff is shot by Strahm.
Although John survived while Amanda and Lynn were both downstairs, he had another trick up his sleeve that involved the survival of Jeff’s daughter, Corbett Denlon. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough to affect Jeff as he cut John’s neck with a power saw (ha), tragically killing Lynn.
In the end of Saw 3 it says he should play another game to get his daughter back but dies right after in Saw 4. He never got a chance to play and Hoffman saved his daughter.
The tape ends with John dying from his injuries and Lynn’s collar immediately exploding, killing her, leaving Jeff trapped in the hospital room.

The last man Jill and Mark are supposed to “test” is Mark. Finally, Saw: The Final Chapter reveals that there is more than one killer: It turns out that Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes), the truant oncologist, is at John “tested” the first Saw, still alive.
He wants them to escape at all costs. Adam is tasked with doing something to avoid being left to die, but fails to escape from the room, which is the “something” he is meant to prevent. Whether or not Gordon was also tested for his ability to escape, Adam still failed.
While the main assumption was that Adam was simply dying of thirst when his corpse was shown in Saw II, it is later shown in a flashback in Saw III that he was killed out of guilt by Amanda after the end of the first Saw film by suffocating him with a plastic bag.
John Kramer (colloquially: “The Jigsaw Killer”) is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the Saw franchise. Jigsaw made his debut in the first film in the series, Saw, and appears in all subsequent sequels except Spiral. He is portrayed by American actor Tobin Bell.

Halden later died trying to help Jeff rescue his son’s killer from a trap. Corbett, Jeff’s baby daughter, was “rescued” by Jigsaw apprentice Mark Hoffman after Jeff failed his test.
