Astaghfirullah literally means “I seek forgiveness from God“. Usually a Muslim recites it as part of the dhikr. It means that Allah is the greatest or that goodness comes from Allah. In popular culture, people can say this when they see something wrong or embarrassing.

Translation of “May God forbid” in Arabic

Recite Astaghfirullah constantly. Say it 3 times after each salad and at least 100 times a day. It means “I ask forgiveness of Allah”. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever says ‘Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi’ 100 times a day, all his sins will be forgiven, even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.”
When the meal is ready: “Allahumma barik lana fima razaqtana waqina athaban-nar.” (Translation: O Allah! Bless the food You have given us and save us from the punishment of Hellfire. ) At the beginning of the meal: Bismillah (“In the name of Allah”)

If one of you sneezes and says ‘alhamdulillah [praise be to Allah]’, it is obligatory for any Muslim who hears him to respond with: “Yarhamuk Allah [may Allah have mercy on you]‘.
The dua in English transliteration is as follows: Astaghfirullah rabbi min kulli zambiyon wa atoobu ilaiyh. English translation: I ask Allah, who is my Lord, for forgiveness of my sins and turn to Him.
You must believe that there is only one God, Allah, who created the entire universe and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is his final messenger on earth. If you recite this with absolute sincerity in front of two witnesses, you have become a Muslim. It really is that simple.

Meanings depending on the linguistic context. They can be said and mean Swear by Allah because the Arabic letters Waaw, Baa’a, Taa’a are used to swear, so when a person says Wallaahi, Billaahi or Tallaahi, it means he swears by Allah or takes an oath by Allah.
