Ld (Leadership) = Routing Chance on Morale Checks. A (attacks) = number of melee attacks in a round. W(wounds)= number of hit points the model has. I (INITIATIVE) Higher initiative means this unit will strike first in melee (unless successfully charged by an enemy unit)
Ld(Leadership) – How brave a model is. Mainly used for morale checks, but some abilities require an Ld roll, Sv (armor roll) – How good the armor is and what you roll when you see if a wound goes through the armor.

Normally a laser cannon with D6 damage would kill a 1 wound model dead; If you roll a 1, the model with 1 wound is dead, and if you roll a 6, the model with 1 wound is dead. But if the model can ignore damage, you must make the damage roll to see if the model successfully ignored all that damage.
To target an enemy unit, at least one model from that unit must be within range (i.e. within range of the range characteristic) of the weapon being used and be a model visible for shooting.
The ability to make up to 15 HQ choices without really limiting your ability to make other choices gives you nearly limitless possibilities.
You don’t need any other core rules to play this way (although we’d recommend taking your army’s codex instead of using the datasheets that come in the model boxes), but if you’re playing Open Play, you might want to play more than a single mission.
Heavy Weapons in Warhammer For Infantry
So if your model doesn’t have the infantry keyword, you can move and shoot with a heavy weapon without penalty. This means monsters and vehicles can now move and fire without penalties.
Pistols are always confusing in Warhammer 40k. This is because it is a secondary weapon, or “additional weapon”. But you can shoot in melee with pistols.
Titanic models can shoot after falling behind (although they don’t have a specific ability to do so on their datasheet).
