Bi-Pin or Bi-Pin is also sometimes referred to as Bi-Pin Cap, Bi-Pin Socket or Two-Pin. This is a type of lamp holder included in the IEC standard. These sockets are often used for small incandescent lamps, especially halogen lamps.
Knowing the pin spacing and wattage of a fluorescent tube is enough to identify the lamp type.

Common bulb shapes
The two larger frames, E27 and B22, are generally available in two shapes. First, the “GLS” bulb is also known as the traditional lightbulb shape or standard bulb shape that we are all familiar with, and second, it’s a shorter shape commonly referred to as the “golf ball” bulb shape.
B22 LED bulbs, also known as BC LED bulbs, are an energy saving solution using the traditional plug and twist fitting common in the UK. B22 LED light bulbs are widely used in household fixtures and are available in a variety of color temperatures, shapes and lumens from leading retail brands.
Also known as a “twist and lock” bulb, a bayonet cap bulb has two pins that retract and then expand into slots within the socket when rotated. Standard bayonet fitting bulbs are 22mm in diameter (B22d), but smaller (SBC) sizes are also available.
Replacing your existing incandescent or halogen bulbs with long-life LED bulbs offers numerous benefits. You enjoy even better light output and benefit from very low energy consumption. In addition, LEDs can handle all shades of white light, so the warm yellowish light of halogen lamps is perfectly within reach!
E12 is the smaller “candelabra” base. It is used for night light bulbs and sometimes for decorative bulbs used in chandeliers and above bathroom mirrors. E17, “medium” base, is between these two sizes. It’s sometimes used for desk lamps and appliance bulbs, but it’s not that common.
Since they are most commonly used in bedrooms or dining rooms, they are usually purchased in the warm white color temperature of around 3000K. Once again, the LED light bulb with the B22 fitting is a simple push and twist fit, while the LED light bulb with the Edison E27 fitting is a screw fit.
B22 bulbs have the classic bayonet fitting which has two ‘mounts’ on either side of the bulb. This is also known as the ‘standard’ bayonet fitting and is the most common in UK. Be careful not to get confused with B15 Bayonet Catches, which are smaller and rarer.
The bayonet fitting is another common fixture found in the home and these come in two different sizes – the B15 (small bayonet) and the B22 (large bayonet). The B15 is 15mm in diameter while the B22 is 22mm in diameter.
