Unnamed in the movies, they were given the names Mac and Tosh in the 1960s TV show The Bugs Bunny Show. The names are a pun on the surname “Macintosh”. They are characterized by an unusually high level of politeness. The Goofy Gophers in the short film I Gopher You.
Alvin & the chipmunks (1983–1990)
Three chipmunk brothers, Alvin, Simon and Theodore. The trio were adopted by Dave (human) and live with him.
Henery Hawk is an American series Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoon character who appeared in thirteen animated films.
Hubie and Bertie are rodent animated characters in the Warner Bros. animated series Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. Hubie and Bertie represent some of animator Chuck Jones’ earliest work, which was intended to be funny rather than cute.
Gopher Broke is a 1958 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes animated film directed by Robert McKimson. The cartoon was released on November 15, 1958 and features the Goofy Gophers and the Barnyard Dawg. The voices are performed by Mel Blanc and Stan Freberg. The title is a pun on the phrase “go all out”.
He then invented three singing chipmunks, named after Liberty Records executives as an inside joke. Alvin (named after Al Bennett), Simon (named after Si Waronker) and Theodore (Ted Keep).
Alvin is the oldest and also the most mischievous. Then there’s the middle child, Simon, the smartest of the three chipmunks. Finally, there’s Theodore, the youngest chipmunk, who’s youthfully innocent and adorable. But wait, they ARE all chipmunks.
Egghead Jr. is a big-headed and very intelligent chick, and has appeared in several short films with the boisterous Foghorn Leghorn (also a character directed by McKimson and voiced by Mel Blanc). The only child of Miss Prissy, a widow, Egghead Jr.
The rowdy rooster appeared in 29 animated films from 1946 to 1963, all directed by McKimson. The first animated film to feature Foghorn Leghorn was a Henery Hawk film called Walky Talky Hawky. Foghorn Leghorn was not only boisterous and loud, but also known for his mischievous streak.
Take care of me boy! I don’t just talk to make my head roar. That was me – I say that’s what I am told you, boy! Go away, I say, go away, boy, you’re disturbing me.
Pablo “Speedy” Gonzales is an animated cartoon character from the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies animated series. He is portrayed as “the fastest mouse in all of Mexico”, with his main attributes being the ability to run extremely fast and speak with an exaggerated Mexican accent.
Later appearances. The 1990 television series Tiny Toon Adventures features a younger counterpart of Sniffles named “Li’l Sneezer“, a baby mouse with a tendency to sneeze at hurricane force. Sniffles also made guest appearances in the film Space Jam (1996) and the television series The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries (1995).
Tom and Jerry is an American animated series about an unfortunate cat’s endless pursuit of a clever mouse. Tom is the scheming cat and Jerry is the brave mouse. The series was entirely driven by action and visual humor; the characters almost never spoke.
Named after three record executives from the Chipmunks’ original label, Alvin, Theodore and Simon became fan favorites. They were animated for a short-lived television series in 1961 and released a number of albums leading up to Bagdasarian Sr.’s death.
They were raised as siblings and are littermates in the 80s series. Age timing memory in both the CGI films and the new series suggests that Alvin and Simon are most likely littermates.
Eleanor Miller, the youngest and most voluptuous, wears spring greens in almost all of her clothes. She loves to cook and despite being a chipmunk she’s often said to have a weight problem because she can’t shed her baby fat no matter how hard she tries. Eleanor is like a gold medalist in any sport.
Unfortunately, Amber and Annie start arguing this in front of the chipmunks, and they both end up agreeing that Theodore is the cutest, much to Alvin’s dismay. Instead, to be known as the cutest, Alvin tries to sabotage Theodore by making him read lines about how much he resembles a baby.
