What are social 6 braces? The term “Social 6 Brackets” refers to a collection of brackets specifically designed to straighten your six front teeth. Most of the adult patients we see are happy with the way their teeth clench and they just want to improve the appearance of their smile.
Social 6 braces are used to treat mild to moderate misalignments and small gap problems quickly and effectively. Treatment times vary based on each patient’s orthodontic needs, but treatment time is typically 6-16 weeks total.
There are three general phases of braces and Invisalign treatment: the planning phase, the active phase, and the retention phase. All three phases are super important.
Straightening individual teeth is possible and more common than you think. There are multiple treatment options and each patient must decide how long they are willing to spend repairing a tooth. A tooth can often be quickly straightened with clear aligners or quick braces.
Lingual brackets are highly precise
Like normal brackets, all lingual brackets are designed based on impressions of the patient’s mouth. However, lingual brackets can be adjusted to each individual tooth. Due to their individual adjustment, lingual brackets are ideal for correcting severe misaligned teeth.
The third and final phase of orthodontic treatment is the retention phase. This phase occurs once the teeth have moved to the desired position and the use of the dental appliance stops.
Choose gold, dark blue, pink, orange, turquoise, green or purple to complement darker skin tones. Choose light blue, bronze, deep purple, or muted reds and pinks to complement lighter skin tones. Choose darker colors to make your teeth appear whiter.
Typically energy chains become part of your treatment after the initial alignment phase. They can be used to align your teeth or correct your bite, but are most commonly used to fill gaps between teeth. You may have a gap after a tooth is extracted.
While the speed of the process depends heavily on the type of problem you’re dealing with, most experts seem to agree that the clear aligners are the quickest way straighten your teeth.
Orthodontic patients generally find ceramic braces more comfortable to wear than metal braces. The high-quality materials are non-abrasive, so they won’t irritate your gums or the corners of your mouth (a common complaint with those who wear metal braces).
Ligatures are the elastic bands that appear woven into each bracket; They come in all sorts of colors and can be a fun form of self-expression. These hold the archwire in place through the bracket, but can also help move your teeth.
TIP #3: Choose your braces colors carefully
If you choose clear or white elastics, they often turn yellow depending on what you eat and what drinks you drink . For example: Red pasta sauce turns white rubber bands a little orange. Coffee/tea turns clear rubber bands yellow.
