The milk has a rich, creamy flavor and reminds me of unsweetened condensed milk. I buy this product whenever I find it available to supplement the purchase of regular pasteurized milk. The cost per gallon of Parmalat is comparable to the price of pasteurized milk in the milk crate. It’s good value for money.
A nutritious glass of milk: Our milk is packed with good things like vitamins A and D, protein and calcium. Stay fresh longer! Here at Parmalat we heat our milk at higher temperatures than traditional pasteurized milk. This keeps our milk fresh for longer and does not need to be refrigerated before opening.
Regular milk can also be subjected to UHT. The process is used for room temperature Parmalat milk found outside of the refrigerator and for most milk sold in Europe. So why isn’t all milk made using the UHT process? One reason is that UHT-treated milk tastes different.
Best known for ultra-high temperature (UHT) shelf-stable dairy products, Parmalat is proud to offer 100% real cow’s milk that can be stored without refrigeration until opened.
Ultrapasteurized milk is heated to 280°F for 2 seconds. This process kills more bacteria than regular pasteurization. Ultrapasteurized milk requires constant refrigeration and has a shelf life of 30 to 90 days after opening.
A carton of Parmalat whole milk contains only UHT milk and “Vitamin D” (added to fortify the milk after some naturally occurring vitamins have been killed off during processing).
Parmalat Organic Milk is organically processed.
in compliance with the California Organic Foods Act of 1990
Thanks to our special pasteurization process, our milk does not have to be stored in the refrigerator until it is opened. This means you can store as many bottles as you like and never run out of milk.
Parmalat S.p.A. is a dairy and food company that is a subsidiary of the French multinational Lactalis. It was founded in 1961 by Calisto Tanzi.
Like chilled milk, shelf life or UHT milk is a rich source of essential nutrients and offers the same great health benefits. UHT (Ultra Heat Treatment) milk contains the same nutrients as chilled milk – calcium, phosphorus, potassium, riboflavin, zinc, vitamins A and B12, magnesium, carbohydrates and protein.
It is not a good idea to start your baby on Parmalat First Growth milk at 10 months. This milk is only suitable for babies from 12 months.
Pamalat Ultra High Temperature Pasteurized Whole Milk is a good source of calcium, protein and vitamin D3. This grade A milk is preservative free and can be used in a wide variety of food preparations. The bulk pack of 12 boxes is a good buy for restaurants, cafeterias and supermarkets.
Parmalat Canada acquired these and other brands, becoming one of Canada’s largest food companies. Groupe Lactalis becomes number 1 in the global milk market after acquiring leading Italian dairy company Parmalat. Parmalat Canada has operated in Canada since 1997 and is a subsidiary of Parmalat S.p.A. in Italy.
The nutritional value of UHT milk and fresh milk is the same when it comes to the main nutrients in milk, such as protein, calcium and vitamin D. UHT treatment can reduce the level of heat sensitive nutrients such as vitamin C, but milk is not the primary source of these nutrients.
In many European countries, however, UHT milk is the norm. This milk is heated to twice the temperature – 140 °C – in just three seconds. The high heat does its job almost instantly, killing all bacteria and most bacterial spores that can withstand lower temperatures.
The result is a wholesome milk that can be stored at room temperature for up to six months. Once opened, it must be refrigerated and used within 7 days.
