App. 9 is one of the private labels made for exclusive sale at Kohl’s. It was first launched in 2004 as a men’s and women’s clothing line and expanded to housewares in 2006. The leisure collection includes clothing, shoes and accessories.
Kohl’s said it will exit eight underperforming brands, including chaps and apt. 9 in women as it shifts focus to the Nine West brand. It also plans to expand its Lands’ End brand line to 300 more stores and introduce Cole Haan as a new offering in the footwear category.
Apt. 9 is a menswear brand that offers looks for a range of shapes and sizes. From long sleeves to casual shirts, denim to cashmere and black to checked, the Apt.
Nine West joins Kohl’s portfolio of top brands including LC Lauren Conrad, Simply Vera Vera Wang, Apt. 9, POPSUGAR at Kohl’s, Circus by Sam Edelman, a: Glow Maternity, Nike, Under Armor, adidas, Levis, New Balance and more.
Very disappointed that Kohl’s no longer carries the EVRI brand.
The eight brands are: Dana Buchman, Jennifer Lopez, Mudd, Candie’s, Rock & Republic, PopSugar, Elle and Juicy Couture. Kohl’s announced in March it would be leaving eight brands, but did not name them.

The success of Nine West depended largely on the use of Brazilian manufacturing facilities. While these factories originally produced 200 pairs of shoes per day for Fisher and Camuto, production levels increased exponentially, reaching 130,000 pairs of shoes per day in 1993.
Kohl’s has been testing and experimenting with small format stores for the past several years, so the retailer isn’t simply downsizing Kohl’s’ experience from 85,000 to 35,000 square feet.

Her advice: keep it simple. So the retailer eliminated part of the Sonoma line to promote cohesion. Sonoma became bloated and lost its identity from years of adding items that eventually did well and kept as the company played it safe.
