The one you’ll see street skating, the Ollie Kickflip, is a whole different beast. None is really heavier or easier than the other, but that’s much more alien to most skaters today due to its unusual riding position and flip technique.
Make sure you’ve mastered the ollie before attempting a kickflip and make sure you know other easy skateboard tricks, this will really help you learn this trick faster .
Ollie is the hardest thing to learn to skateboard. Me and my friends took a long time. I think it’s hard to explain, so it’s hard to teach. Rather, the initial smack or bang of the tail against the ground sends the board flying upwards, which you can reproduce by simply stepping on the tail of your board.

The ollie is a basic trick that is difficult to learn at first. Popping a deck and sliding with the front foot feels very awkward and uncomfortable, it just takes a lot of practice. Some will learn faster than others, but dedication and perseverance is part of skateboarding, no one can ollie in style on day one.
About a month or two. I practiced fairly regularly for a whole month before I landed my first real ollie. Probably like 6 months I had my stationary ollies in 2 weeks but it also depends on the person if you practice practice drills you can even put down ollies in a few months.
2 FEET (60CM) FOR YOUR FIRST GOAL
A good ollie can make other tricks like kickflip or grind/slide tricks easier, so we recommend taking your time take to get used to your Olli here. Set your first goal at about 60 cm (2 feet). Once you can ollie more than 2 feet (2 feet), you can move on to kick flips or other flat bottom tricks.
If you want to get good, three to six hours a day is realistic… even more if you’re not already drenched in sweat or stretching your legs. Skate parks are usually a place where you will learn and grow the most.
