Sakura (Leo), also known as Princess Sakura (Leo, Sakura Hime), is a fictional character from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, a manga series written and illustrated by Clamp.
During the story of Clow Card Arc and Sakura Card Arc, she canonically ages to twelve years by the end of the series in both the anime and manga versions. In the Clear Card Arc storyline, she canonically ages to fourteen years while attending Tomoeda Junior High School. Sakura is an energetic and happy young girl.
The CLAMP connection
The connection between Cardcaptor Sakura and Tsubasa is obvious as the protagonists are literally just different versions of each other. In addition, there are other similarities and connections that unify the two superficially very different stories thematically.
It’s not until Season 3, midway through the story, that he begins to develop and realize his romantic bond with Sakura. It took him even longer to confess those feelings, and in true anime hero fashion, he longs for it while doing his best to protect her.
Syaoran is introduced in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle as a young archaeologist who often visits the Kingdom of Clow and is in love with his childhood friend Sakura, the kingdom’s princess. Syaoran is the adopted son of the late archaeologist Fujitaka, who found him on the street as a child with no memories of his past.
Syaoran is the son of “Sakura” and “Syaoran Li” (this led to the assumption that they are identical to CCS as they use both the magic circle and items from the CCS series), but that later turns out to be wrong in Chapter 223, where we learn it was the clones.
For pure anime fans: The Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle series ends after 52 episodes, with the last 10 being just filler.
In timeline B, at the beginning of the series Sakura is the princess of the Kingdom of Clow, her father is Clow Reed, Nadeshiko is no longer Sakura’s mother, and Fujitaka becomes Clone Syaoran’s father. Until the age of 14, Sakura grew up with Clone Syaoran and has feelings for him.
Nanamine Sakura (七峰桜) is an antagonist in the series. She is a third year student in the high school division of Kamome Academy.
Ten-year-old Sakura (voiced by Sakura Tange) is a fourth grader who lives with her widowed father, a professor of archeology, and her teenage brother. One day after school, Sakura accidentally unleashes a collection of magical “Clow Cards” from a locked book she finds in her father’s office.
Sakura Kinomoto is a pansexual character from Cardcaptor Sakura.
Clow Reed is a blood relative of both Sakura Kinomoto and Syaoran Li, while also being a blood relative of Princess Sakura and Syaoran’s reincarnated clones.
So the epilogue ends with Syaoran deciding to go on a journey to try and find a way to restore the soul of the clone Syaoran (who is his own father) into a body , Sakura has revealed that she had a dream that gave her a vision of the future, so she cannot make the journey.
He also masters his jian, a Chinese sword, with which he refines his magical skills. Then, just because he’s that good, he has a particularly strong ability to sense magic, something he even beats Sakura at. It goes without saying that Syaoran is probably the toughest eight year old in his school.
In episode 27, he blushes when Sakura hugs him, and subsequent episodes show him being shy around her and becoming increasingly concerned for her safety and well-being, something that confuses him. After Judgment Day, Sakura is declared the new master of the Clow cards, essentially leaving Syaoran as a failure.
