FOX 4 went wild turkey hunting to find the lowest butterball prices between Publix, Target and Walmart. After visiting all three stores, we found Walmart’s Butterball price to be the cheapest: 98 cents a pound. Target and Publix priced their Butterball turkey the same: 99 cents a pound.
How much is a turkey at Sam’s Club? A fresh turkey costs 99 cents per pound for a Jennie-O turkey. They also have fresh Jennie-O premium turkey for $1.99 per pound.
Walmart. Turkey prices: $0.68 per pound for Shady Brook and Honeysuckle brand frozen baby turkeys. $0.98 per pound for premium frozen butterball, all-natural baby turkey.
The general rule of thumb is 1–1½ pounds of turkey per person.
So for smaller gatherings, Jessie recommends going down to 2 pounds per person to max out leftovers (more on that later). “For four to six people, 11 to 13 pounds is a good range,” says Jessie.

The more loyal you are to a chain, the better the deals. Aldi is selling whole frozen Butterball turkey for 87 cents a pound as part of an Aldi Saver. Buyers are limited to two turkeys.
