A 12-inch subwoofer is known for producing extra bass production with decent bass response. Overall, sound quality isn’t sacrificed, but if you’re playing your subwoofer at peak power, your system will suffer. It is always recommended to use RMS wattage to get the most out of your woofer.
If you’re looking for a basic subwoofer that gives you accurate bass without distortion and doesn’t take up too much space, go for a 10-inch subwoofer. However, if you want something with a little more power and deeper bass response, then the 12″ might be better for you.
Are 12s louder than 10s? Size is mostly about defining volume, so you can expect the 12″ subwoofer to be louder than the 10″ subwoofer. This also applies to dual subs. However, smaller subs are a better option if you’re looking for consistency of sound rather than loudness.
I hope this helps. A: You need at least a 500 watt amp with one of these speakers more if you have two.
