Press Shift+C with a camera in your Sim’s inventory to take a photo. You can also click the camera to do this, but it’s not recommended. When your Sim takes photos, they work to fill photo collections.
Taking photos is done either by clicking on the phone and going to the entertainment tab, or by clicking on the cameras in the Sim’s inventory. Each use gives a base amount of experience, more if the Sim has the inspired mood. There are a few options – “Take a picture with” which will be a selfie with another Sim.

Camera controls in The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval are the same as in The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories. However, the CTRL + WASD/arrow keys can now be used. More camera control options have been added to the UI, including a tilt button to tilt the camera angle up and down.
How to take a selfie in Sims 4? To take selfies when no one is around, simply select the camera icon. To take a selfie that also includes another Sim, click on the phone, select Conversation, then click Take Photo Of and select the nearby Sim you want to take a selfie with.
In Sims 3’s camera mode (which you can set in the game options and which allows you to control the tilt), freely adjust the angle by moving the mouse and hold middle scroll button. If your mouse doesn’t have a middle button, hold Ctrl while scrolling or use the directional arrow to tilt the angle.
