One of the easiest ways to reset the Flip video camera is to simply press and hold the device’s power button for about 10 seconds. This will automatically reset the camera, but will also pause any current actions.
Once you have verified that the batteries are charged, you can reset certain Flip models by removing and reinserting the battery. If this doesn’t fix your problem, there is on the bottom of all Flip cameras a small button you can press to factory reset the device.
Simply unfold a paperclip, gently push it into the hole and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat this three times to ensure the device has been reset at least once. Then connect the camera to your computer and it will reinitialize (and hopefully should work again).
Double-click or open My Computer. Right-click the Flip Video icon. From the menu, choose Format.
