In the Books app on your Mac, choose File > Import. In the Open dialog box, select the book, audiobook, or PDF you want to import, then click Import. Note: You can also drag and drop books, PDFs, and some audiobooks into your library.
Connect your iPod to your computer. Open iTunes (if it doesn’t open automatically). Turn on the Manage Music Manually setting in iTunes (or turn on using the hard drive if you’re using an iPod shuffle). This is a one-time step required to transfer audiobooks from OverDrive for Windows (Desktop) to your iPod.
Open OverDrive for Windows (desktop). Select an audiobook and then click Transfer. When the Transfer Wizard opens, click Next. If your device is recognized, make sure it’s listed under “Player”. Select the parts you want to transfer and click Next.

There are three ways to transfer music to iPod without iTunes. You can transfer songs to iPod using a data transfer tool, or transfer music to iPod directly via USB, or sync music to iPhone via iCloud.
By default, audiobooks are stored in Music on your iPod and iTunes. If you’d like, you can categorize an audiobook to show up under Audiobooks instead by following the steps below. Connect your iPod to your computer using a USB cable. Open iTunes (if it doesn’t open automatically).
On a Mac, launch iBooks (if you don’t have it, download it for free here) and then click iBooks Store. On the right you will see a list of quick links. Click Free Books. On an iOS device, tap iBooks, tap Store, and then tap Highlights at the bottom of the screen.
