Rescan audio devices
In some cases, you may need to scan the audio devices connected to your operating system. If Audacity is already running and you connect an output device to it, e.g. B. speakers or headphones, Audacity simply does not recognize such a device.
Open the settings panel from the Audacity menu. On the Audio I/O tab, set both the playback device and the recording device to the USB microphone. Set Channels to 1 (Mono). If the headset is not an option in Settings: • Check the computer’s audio settings (Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Sound).
You have probably selected the wrong playback device. Go to Audacity’s Settings -> Devices -> playback device. Include as much detail as possible in your post (Audacity version, operating system, equipment used, etc.).
Right-click the speaker icon next to the system clock, select Sounds, and then click the Playback tab. Then right-click on the speakers or headphones you are using, select “Set as default device” and click “OK”.
The device toolbar shown below is displayed by default on a fresh install of Audacity. If the device toolbar is not visible, click Show > Toolbars > Device Toolbar. You may want to increase the size of the device toolbar by dragging the dragger / dragbar resizer to the right.
This is often caused by a faulty or weak Bluetooth network. To fix this, you need to unpair the device first. Restart the speaker and then pair it with the Bluetooth device again. If the problem persists, you must completely delete the pairing information from your devices.
Make sure your computer’s volume is not muted. Close and reopen the audio playback app. Turn your computer’s Bluetooth® function off and on again. Delete the speaker from the list of paired Bluetooth devices, and then pair it again.
To pair a Bluetooth headset, speaker, or other audio device
On your PC, select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Add Bluetooth or other device > bluetooth. Select the device and follow any additional instructions if they appear, then select Done.
