Belkin Wireless G Routers take the connection from your ISP and create a network that any wireless-enabled computer in your office can access. The router uses the 802.11g WLAN standard, which can transmit data at up to 54 Mbit/s.
For best results, it is highly recommended to leave the 2.4 GHz channels on 1, 6, and 11 as these channel settings allow for virtually no overlap in the WiFi signal.
If you want a better and longer range for your devices, use 2.4 GHz. If you need higher speed and could sacrifice range, the 5 GHz band should be used. The 5 GHz band, the newer of the two, has the potential to cut through network noise and interference to maximize network performance.
The recommended channels for 2.4GHz are Channel 1, 6 & 11. As can be seen in the diagram above, these channels do not overlap. In general, 2.4GHz should be considered a legacy band for older devices that don’t support 5GHz. It is often more crowded and less powerful than 5GHz.
