Steinhardt died of complications from acute pancreatitis on July 17, 2021 at the age of 71 in a Tampa, Florida hospital.

Far from imagination, Kansas is a one-hit wonder. They had a style and [founding member/guitarist and keyboardist] Kerry Livgren was so classically influenced and so he infused that into a rock sound – there was an intellectual depth to it.
This area included Westport Landing and was incorporated as the Town of Kansas in 1850. The town’s founders derived the name from the Kansas or Kaw River, named after the Kansa Indians. The state of Missouri then incorporated the area as the City of Kansas in 1853 and renamed it Kansas City in 1889.
