As we traveled around Europe in search of inspiration for our next collection, we noticed a sensible fashion trend being worn by women all over the world: wearing sneakers with stockings. A pair that can be worn for work, casual gatherings and vacations.
Here’s the general rule: Yes, you can wear tights as long as the shoe you’re wearing is closed or peep toe. If it’s a real open toe sandal, I stay away from pantyhose. Wearing tights with strappy open toe sandals weighs down your legs and makes you look old and frumpy.

Classic nude sheer tights are worn with dresses to avoid exposing the legs and all their imperfections in formal and professional settings. They’re not exactly a style statement, they’re more practical.
Other than that, technically I find it best to slip them on slowly – take the leg opening and gather the fabric until you only have 3 to 4 inches of tubing to slip over your toes. As you step into the tube and pull it up your leg, bunch the fabric while trying to pull the tube tight enough.
