Press “Menu” on the remote control. Step 3. Highlight the “Manage Recording” menu and select “History”. Find the deleted recordings in the list and recover them instantly.
3 Recover Deleted Shows
Once you have selected the program you want to recover, you can select a recovery option. Verizon users must go to the cable menu and select “DVR” then “Recently Deleted” to select the programs they want to restore.
The only reason for recordings disappearing is either because they were manually deleted or because of insufficient disk space or exceeded series limit. There is no way to recover deleted recordings. They either re-record or download them via on-demand when available.
You probably ran out of hard drive space and the DVR automatically deleted the oldest recorded shows. Shows are only kept until more space is needed, but you can protect shows from being deleted from the Recorded TV category.
Power failure – This is the most common and most important reason for deleting recordings. Recordings would be disrupted if the power was turned off during program airtime. It also damages the internal workings of the DVR. No Space/Less Space – DVR recordings need enough space.
Scroll down until you see the Recently Deleted album (it’s listed under Other Albums). Select “Recently Deleted”. Select “Select” at the top right of the screen. Tap on the pictures you want to recover.
The first thing you should try is to reset all your DVRs using the red reset button behind the access card door on the front. Usually this helps them “rediscover” each other.
Your CCTV’s digital video recorder (DVR) stores footage on a rolling schedule of 30, 60, or 90 days depending on how long you want to keep it and how much storage space you have. After this period or as soon as the hard drive is full, the DVR will start recording your oldest footage.
DIRECTVhelp. Good morning @4Bushnells2018, There is no way to turn off the last chance feature but you can keep shows until you want to delete them. You can just click on the recording with the last chance icon on the left, then select the “Keep” option and then “Keep until I delete”.
DIRECTV DVRs have always managed storage space automatically by deleting the oldest recordings to make room for new ones when more storage space was needed.
Now recorded from a regular satellite channel there shouldn’t be an EXP date. However, when your DVR gets full, it will start deleting the oldest recordings and skip any recordings you may have marked as “keep”.
Last chance feature has been implemented to make sure you have enough disk space and don’t lose recordings you never got a chance to watch. To avoid losing recordings you wanted to keep, there are options “Keep until I delete” and “Keep until disk is full”.
If you have a recording that cannot be deleted, please check the following steps to resolve the issue: On your remote control, press the CABLE button twice and then press the MENU button. Then select the DVR MENU Select DVR CLEANUP. Highlight the program to be deleted and click DELETE on the left.
