Ugg boots are made from sheepskin that can be dyed with Rit. Follow the flush or bucket method. However, do not add extra salt. Be sure to wash the boots first to remove excess dirt and place them in the dye bath while they are still damp.
Angelus has teamed up with Rit Dye to offer even more customization options. We wanted an option for our cloth, canvas and synthetic customizers out there. That way you can continue to use our strong leather and suede dyes for their intended purposes and use Rit Dye for other fun projects.

Suede is used for boots, shoes, jackets and even car upholstery. But it’s a soft material that’s prone to water damage. You can change the color of a suede item with fabric dye. The process takes a few hours, but is the same as dying boots or other suede goods.
For suede, Fabric Color is usually a good option because it’s flexible enough not to tear. Paint the design conveniently before you start painting the suede.
We generally advise against using paint on suede as it can cause the material to harden and lose its factory finish. This is where Angelus Suede Dye comes in. Dye changes the color of suede by penetrating the surface without damaging it.
To intentionally change the color of a suede item, use a purpose-specific suede dye. However, you can be assured that your suede will end up darker than it started.
It can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day for the paint to dry. For a more stable base color, leave on for at least 24 hours. It’s important to give the color enough time to soak into the soft suede.
Don’t try to use leather dye on suede. They behave very differently, and you probably won’t be happy with the results. If you don’t want stained hands, wear gloves (leather is skin after all…). A wool brush is very suitable for applying colour.
