Information for Students
Purchase an iClicker Reef subscription online through the iClicker Reef website or download the app from the Apple Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). The app is free, but requires a subscription to use it after the two-week trial.
“I taught 150 students remotely today using the system for all students. It worked really well and made the remotely presented lecture pleasantly interactive.” “All of my students love iClicker. After the quick transition to online teaching, we’re using iClicker very well and it’s helping my students learn.”
iClicker allows you to register your remote, use your remote to answer questions in class, and access your class data after class, all without paying for an additional subscription or access code.
Creating an iClicker student account is free. After creating an account, students have a 14-day free trial period to use the iClicker app for students to attend classes.
“If you want to turn a one-page lecture into a two-way dialogue, iClicker is the tool for you.” “iClicker is easy to use and encourages student engagement – you can’t be passive when a question is asked, you have to think about the question and answer.”
No problem. iClicker Attendance can run without location. Set and forget: You can schedule attendance to run automatically during each class time. Students can check in conveniently and free of charge via their mobile phone or web browser.
To participate using the iClicker Reef mobile app, you must enable Reef in your course settings. Then students need to create an iClicker Reef account or log into their existing account, add your course and click join when starting a session.
The iClicker student app lets you answer questions with your Android device. Tap to reply and get instant feedback. Compare your vote to the rest of the class. After class, access saved iClicker questions to study for a quiz or exam.
Clickers are purchased directly by students at campus bookstores. Prices can range from $10 to $100 depending on the system chosen by the instructor or campus technology center. An instructor may also need to set up an appropriate system to process clicker input on his or her site.
iClicker instructor remotes work up to 300 feet away and are not affected by poor Wi-Fi connectivity.
